Our Mission

North End Woodward Community Coalition (NEWCC) builds community power by advancing resident leadership, shared ownership, and stewardship of resources and systems that shape everyday life.

We work alongside residents and community partners to strengthen neighborhoods through housing and land stewardship, environmental resilience, digital access, community media, and community care. Our work addresses systemic barriers while creating pathways for communities to shape decisions, retain ownership, build local wealth, and sustain the institutions and infrastructure they depend on.

Our mission is not simply to bring resources into communities, but to help build the capacity, relationships, and community-controlled systems that allow those resources—and their benefits—to remain.

Our Vision

NEWCC envisions communities where residents have the power, resources, and relationships to shape their own future—and where the systems that support everyday life are equitable, resilient, and rooted in community ownership.

We envision neighborhoods where affordable housing remains within reach, land is responsibly stewarded, clean energy and digital infrastructure serve community needs, local voices are heard, and residents share in the benefits of investment and development.

Through organizing, advocacy, partnership, and community-led innovation, we work toward lasting systems change while developing approaches that can be sustained, adapted, and shared across communities.
